Christmas has passed by quickly and that means only one thing: Chinese New Year is coming! It is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year based on the traditional Chinese calendar, celebrated mostly in Asian countries. The festival, which is also called Lunar New Year, is such a big event for everyone, so all are expected to prepare for it. In fact, these major shopping malls are expected to have Chinese New Year’s decorations to attract many people! Let’s see what they’ve prepared.

 

1. Sunway Pyramid

Sunway Pyramid features a place with fortune and prosperity and calls it the 鼠不尽的财! Bank of Fortune. They have prepared fun activities for visitors to play: Journey of Prosperity, Golden Rush, Lion Dance, Fortune Partners, Fortune Redemptions. Hundreds of Chinese lanterns are hanging everywhere you look. 

 

2. Mid Valley Megamall

Mid Valley made sure that kids will also be fond of the Lunar New Year decorations of the mall. Their decorations for the festival are giant LEGO figures of dragons and rats. Also, you can play mini LEGO games with your friends. Mid Valley’s Lunar New Year decorations will be on display until February 2nd. 

 

3. Sunway Velocity Mall

Step into Sunway Velocity’s Chinese New Year decorations with the theme of endless wealth! Since 2020 is a year of the metal rat, they believe that the rat will bless them abundantly. Scenes from everyday ancient life are portrayed here also.

 

4. Central i-City

A fat and smiling 8-ft tall Golden Prosperity Mouse awaits you as you enter the House of Prosperity at Central i-City. The place has cherry blossom trees and lanterns in every corner! Together with your friends, visit the place and take beautiful pictures and selfies in this IG-worthy spot.

 

5. IOI City Mall

IOI City Mall did not only prepared decoration for the Chinese festival but wonderful performances and workshops, too! One of the most-watched performance is the classic lion dance, which both kids and adults enjoy watching. Starting Jan 4th until Feb 9th, everyone is welcome to watch and join in the Blessings of Longevity 2020.

 

6. IOI Mall Puchong

Spring is the season of new beginnings, and that is how IOI Mall Puchong decorated their activity center. Many cherry blossom trees can be seen, symbolizing new hope and the arrival of the Lunar New Year. You can take pictures, watch lion dance performances, or just simply admire the place and feel the festive vibes.
