Exploring the Humble Country of Laos

Despite the “forgotten” description that is always used when mentioning Laos, and the fact that it is one of the poorest countries in Southeast Asia, the country is totally beautiful and amazing! As a matter of fact, it has a lot of stunning spots every traveler would want to see and experience! Here are some:

1. Pha That Luang

A gold-covered large Buddhist shrine with 30 small towers around and measures about 45-meter high.

This spot is best to visit in the evening when you can capture one of the best sunset scenery with the mighty temple.

2. Wat Pa Huak

Also known as the Monastery of the Bamboo Forest, Wat Pa Huak is one of the oldest wooden wats in the city.

3. Wat Xieng Thong

Wat Xieng Thong (Golden City Temple) one of the outstanding temples in Luang Prabang which is said to be the most historically significant and magnificent!

4. Royal Palace

A complex building with a splendid architectural design and gleaming with gold. As the name goes, the Royal Palace is the royal residence of the Cambodian king.

5. Phu Si Hill

A 100-meter high hill where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the entire Luang Prabang. The hill also offers a stunning sunset view, no doubt many are willing to climb up just to witness the amazing scenery.

6. Kuang Si Falls

Kuang Si or Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls is a three-layered waterfall cascading from a height of 100 meters. Though the road is a bit tricky, it is still worth taking the risk for a beautiful scenery awaits.

7. Tham Phu Kam

Otherwise known as the Golden Crab Cave where a reclining Buddha structure can be found. Aside from paying a visit to the Buddha, you can also go for a swim in the Ka River, where the water is clean, deep, and safe for jumping in from the trees.
